WordPress powers 32.3% of websites on the internet. It is a free and open-source content management system written in PHP and paired with a MySQL or MariaDB database.
Features include a plugin architecture and a template system, referred to within WordPress as Themes. You can host it yourself or use wordpress.com or wordpress.org.
Medium is an online publishing platform developed by Evan Williams and launched in August 2012. It is owned by A Medium Corporation.
You can think of Medium sort of like Twitter for long-form content, except it has an algorithmic timeline that tells you what stories you’re going to be interested in.
Tumblr is an American microblogging and social networking website founded by David Karp in 2007 and currently owned by Automattic. The service allows users to post multimedia and other content to a short-form blog. Users can follow other users’ blogs. Bloggers can also make their blogs private.
You can also have a custom domain and customised themes which makes it ideal for branding.
